Yesterday was the hardest day of my life

August 29th, 2008

Life never turns out the way you expected.

You grow older and you keep discovering new things. You discover your own abilities and limits.

You discover you are able to love someone completely. You’ve been hearing about it all your life, but you don’t understand it until you find yourself willing to die for someone and mean it wholeheartedly.

You discover you aren’t as in control of your own emotions as you thought you were. All your life you’ve thought you were behind the wheel, until one day you try to make a left turn and the controls won’t respond. You’re not driving alone anymore. And you finally understand the phrase “no man is an island”.

I jumped out. Now I’m standing on the side of the road, trying to remember how to walk.

“If you want to be given everything, give everything up…”
